Emacs mostra quadratini invece di caratteri quando ci si collega a una macchina remota (Emacs lanciato via X).

Creare il file ~/.Xdefaults containing

ed esegiore

  xrdb -merge ~/.Xdefaults

questo vale per una volta, per renderlo permanente, creare un file chiamato per esempio emacs-setup.sh con questo contenuto: 

  xrdb -merge ~/.Xdefaults

e salvarlo nella directory

  /etc/profile.d
